Easy Instructions to Follow on How to Train Your Puppy-Dog

Anyone who has a canine friend understands how they work hard to make you happy. They are our best friend, but what do you do if your dog/puppy is out of control and has now become the master of your home. Do you call Caesar Milan? Most likely most people do not have that option and besides you want to learn how to take back control of your household. It is not that difficult; I have listed some easy instructions on how to train your dog. If you learn how to follow them you will experience a quiet household in a short amount of time.

1. Be consistent on your training: You want to make sure that you do the training everyday. Your dog/puppy will learn from the repetition of this training. If you constantly tell them to do something they will eventually continue doing it. However if you constantly tell them "not" to do something they will learn that as well.

2. Do not hit your dog: They will listen to you and you never need to hit or kick them. If you begin hitting them they will learn to fear you and will become scared to come to you. As a matter of fact they will cower down whenever you approach them, this is not good. You want to raise a dog that feels great and confident.

3. Reward them: Everyone including dogs love to be rewarded for things they do correctly. If you are teaching your dog to sit; and whenever you give the command he/she sits. You want to make sure you give him a positive reward by telling them "good boy" and give them some attention for learning how to sit on command. They will understand that this is a good thing they are doing and will continue to do it.

4. Your families responsibility: Teach your family how to begin to take care of the puppy. Many kids love puppies and they are the reason that many families get a family pet. Give them some of the responsibility of what it means to have a pet. This not only teaches them how to learn responsibilities; but will also help you relieve some of the responsibilities how to train your puppy/dog.

5. Understanding: Be patience and give your dog time to learn everything. We all require time to learn new habits and it is no different for your family pet.

Do not ever give up on learning how to train our dog. They will work hard to please you. You just have to be willing to apply the necessary training; with time and effort on your part you can have a great addition to your family. If these instructions on how to train your dog were beneficial for you feel free to visit our website below for more information. If you begin properly training your dog they will become more disciplined and you will not have to worry about spending a lot of money on dog obedience schools.

Dog Behavioral Problems - Cure Puppy Crate Training Whining

In the third of our popular dog behavioral problems series we have provided a complete guide on how to cure puppy crate training whining. This very common problem is often associated when a puppy has started to associate negative experiences with the Crate. Learn how to avoid this problem ever developing.

It is very important that you never ever use the crate as a punishment as this instantly reinforce his sleeping area as something to fear and you are on to a loser straight away.
If your puppy just hates his sleeping area as you have used it as a punishment tool then you should purchase a new one and start over.
Start by getting your puppy used to his crate by placing toys in there and things that smell of you as this will relax him and make him feel more at home.
Feed your puppy in his crate and get him used to eating in it and being in there.
Never ever let your puppy out of his crate if he is whining as this will just reinforce that whining will get him what he wants. Wait until he is quiet and then let him out.
Get your puppy really tired before he gets in his crate before he sleeps as this will make him really tired and less likely to whine.
Place a blanket over the crate so he can't see you as this will make him cosey and less likely to whine.
As soon as he wakes take him out for a walk and give him some play-time.

Congratulations, follow these instructions and you will cure one of the most common dog behavioral problems.

Dog Training - Getting the Basics Right

Canines and humans have had a strange sort of bond for centuries. And even though they say that a dog is a man's best friend, the communication between them is strange and difficult. They say that man is smarter of the two, but if you were to watch a training session, you would wonder. Dogs and two year old children have the same mental capacity, but that is where all the similarity between dogs and humans end. You need to understand some things about your pet before you start dog training basics. Dogs have different color vision. They react to reds and greens. They also have a strong sense of smell. They perceive things differently in their minds. So if you are trying to train your dog, it is best that you are aware of these things to avoid yourself some frustration.

Most of us harbor the misconception that dogs are pack animals. And even though they descend from wolves and are claimed to be 'loners', this is not true. Dogs are as social as humans. They need constant affection and a hierarchy to be properly trained. Always start training your dog or puppy when he is young. A month old puppy is not too young to be trained. Devote thirty to sixty minutes a day to train your dog. This is not too much depending on the breed of your dog. You need to set aside this time for dog training basics, as it is essential for your dog. Potty training is a separate issue and can be dealt with later and in a different manner, but all other forms of training can follow the same pattern.

You need to establish your role as the alpha leader to your dog as early as possible. Dogs only understand the concept of alpha, beta and omega. And you need to be a firm alpha male for your dog for it to respect you. You may find it difficult with some dogs and easy with others. This level of difficulty to establish your status in the hierarchy depends on the breed of the dog and its personality. Some dogs are naturally aggressive, while others are docile. You can use leashes, collars and voice commands to train your dog effectively. Remember that you are the boss of your dog and it is not the other way around. While it is perfectly all right to use dominance to train your dog, physical dominance is unnecessary and can more often than not be detrimental to your training efforts. Patience and a firm command will be more effective.

To get a dog to submit to his master's dominance may require some tactics. If it is a puppy then place the canine on his back and place a hand on its chest till it lowers the paws. In the case of a bigger dog, put your face close to the dog's face. If your dog tends to run around a lot, then you need to use a short leash to control this tendency. But this does not mean you do not allow the dog some playtime to run around and expend all that pent up energy. Using voice commands works incredibly well. Your voice commands need to be short and crisp. Words like 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come' and 'no' are easy to understand. You need not sound angry, just in control.

Puppy House Training - 4 Basic Puppies Training Tips For a Happy, Well-Behaved Pet

Puppies can make very lovable and adorable pets but there are a lot of responsibilities involved. Not only do you have to ensure that you give it sufficient nutrients, you also need to provide a loving home in order for your puppy to grow happily and healthily. You also do not want it to become a nuisance in your neighbourhood. As such, it is essential that you carry out the necessary puppy house training, especially in the first few months when you first brought your puppy home. If you are wondering how to get hold of some useful puppies training tips to help you in your training, you have come to the right place. Below are 4 basic tips that you can use for a start.

1. Potty Training

The first puppy house training exercise that you need to carry is most probably potty training. This is essential because your puppy needs to learn where the correct place for it to eliminate its waste is. You do want it to soil your carpets and furniture so it is vital that you teach this rule right from the first day you bring your puppy home.

Before it leant the correct place to eliminate its waste, you must not let it go near your carpets or onto the sofa. When you are potty training your puppy, you have to be very patient and consistent. The best timings to potty train a puppy is after each meal. Decide on its potty place and bring it there after every meal. Do not get mad at your puppy if there are any 'accidents', give it some time to learn.

2. Training Your Puppy To Stay Alone Without Misbehaving

There will definitely be occasions when your puppy needs to stay alone at home so you have to train it to behave when there is nobody around in the house. You can start your training by confining it to an isolated area but do not lock it up in a small cage where there is not enough place for it to move around. Little puppies need to sleep a lot so do not feel bad that your puppy is sleeping on its own. Start by confining it for short periods each time and slowly extend the hours. You can prevent it from getting bored by giving it some toys to play with.

After some time you will be able to allow it to move around the house even when there is no one in but ensure that it has already been potty trained. Otherwise, you will come back to a messy home every day. Once your puppy gets used to being alone for a few hours each day, it will not suffer from separation anxiety. That is why it is important that you start puppy house training early.

3. Training Your Puppy To Socialize

In order that your puppy not become an aggressive pet, you have to bring out for walks everyday so that it has a chance to socialize with other animals and people in your neighbourhood. Very often you get to read about dogs behaving in aggressive manners to their neighbours. That is usually because the dog owners did not spend enough time carrying out puppy house training exercises for their pets. Remember that if you ever face difficulties house training your puppy or older dog, you should always seek professional trainer's help. Never give up on your pet.

4. Training Your Puppy To Obey Basic Commands

After you have trained the basic and more important rules such as potty training, food routine and proper behaviour when no one is home, you can go on to teach your puppy to obey some general commands like 'sit', 'heel' and 'no'. These are usually taught when your puppy is older. They are also very vital training rules if you do not want your puppy to misbehave when you bring him out for walks.

Once you bring your new puppy home, it is important that you start teaching it the basic puppy house training exercises as mentioned above. On the other hand, you must also not forget to show your puppy your love for it. Having a new puppy is a very interesting and fun experience for the whole family, so do not forget to enjoy the companionship of your new pet. Have fun!

What’s Up With PuppyInTraining.com?

WARNING!  Some technical mumbo jumbo and a little bit of venting coming ahead…

At the beginning of the year I set a goal to create 366 blog posts from February 1st 2012 to January 31st 2013.  Basically one post a day.  In case you missed it check out my 2012 goal post.  I was doing quite well missing a couple posts due to unforeseen traveling and internet problems, but besides that everything was going well and everything was right in the world (the world of PuppyInTraining.com that is).

Unfortunately, the happy days never seem to last that long.  Of course someone had to throw a wrench into my happy blogging days (not to mention a screw driver, a hammer, and any other relevant tool).  I recently came across an email message through my Google Webmaster tools informing me that there was unnatural linking on PuppyInTraining.com.  So what the heck does that mean?  I’m just about as dumbfounded as you!  Here’ the email message exactly as I received it:

Subject Line: Google Webmaster Tools notice of detected unnatural links on http://puppyintraining.com/

Dear site owner or webmaster of http://puppyintraining.com/,

We’ve detected that some of your site’s pages may be using techniques that are outside Google’s Webmaster Guidelines.

Specifically, look for possibly artificial or unnatural links on your site pointing to other sites that could be intended to manipulate PageRank. Examples of unnatural linking could include selling links to pass PageRank or participating in link schemes.

We encourage you to make changes to your site so that it meets our quality guidelines. Once you’ve made these changes, please submit your site for reconsideration in Google’s search results.

If you have any questions about how to resolve this issue, please see our Webmaster Help Forum for support.

Sincerely,

Google Search Quality Team

Since Google represents about 75% of the traffic to this site when they tell me to jump I say “how high?”  Unfortunately for me I’m not really sure what to make of this whole debacle and because I don’t participate in linking schemes of any sort I’m not sure what’s going on.

Linus Working I'm glad Linus likes to work on these technical issues.

So I sat down at my desk and thought about what could be triggering this email from Google Webmaster Tools.  Here were my thoughts:

I’ve been monitoring my traffic for the past couple weeks.  My traffic has dropped about 10%.I notice my pages no longer have a Page Rank.  I used to have hundreds of indexed pages with PR ranging from PR1 – PR5.I haven’t really done any link building in the past 2-3 years besides trying to create great content.  However, I did submit my site to directorys way back in the day and some of those backlinks may appear spammy.  I’m not really sure how to undo that one.I went into Google Webmaster Tools and I’ve been attempting to cleanup all of their suggestions.I have 2 other pet blogs that link back to PuppyInTraining.com, but I really haven’t been managing either blog for about 2 years.  So I did the following updates to both blogs because I think Google may think that they are spammy blogs.Update to the latest version of WordPressUpdate all pluginsTurned off commenting and trackbacksDeleted all of the spammy looking comments1 of the 2 blogs had a “do follow” comment plugin.  I deactivated this pluginI used to run a blog carnival.  Some of these links could be spammy as well so I started removing all the links in my blog carnivals.I had 2 affiliate links in my footer that I changed to “NoFollow”I removed Chitika ads from the sidebar and below posts

This is what I’ve done so far and I’ve been taking about an hour or 2 a day to work on this cleanup and basically that’s killing my ability to produce new content. :(

By the way, I’ve also been reading through many forums trying to find answers and no one really knows for sure what’s going on.  A lot of people sound like they’re in the same boat as me and have not ever participated in a link network nor do they really know what unnatural links Google is talking about.  It appears that 700,000 of these emails went out in January and February 2012.  I received my email late March 2012.  I’m thinking by now Google has probably sent well over a million of these emails.

Another thing to ponder is could this be a result of negative SEO?  Basically if these unnatural links are harming my site (and others) then why couldn’t someone just send your site a bunch of spammy links to give you an unnatural link profile and fall out of favor with Google.  Think about it…this could be disastrous!

So, unfortunately I’m going to be changing up my posting schedule so I can work to get this “unnatural linking” business with Google straightened out.  From now on I’m going to post between 3-5 articles a week and use my other spare time to try and clean things up to make Google happy.

Here’s my cry for HELP!!!  Have any of you experienced any of this fun and excitement?  If so, what are you doing to fix these problems.  I’d love to hear your suggestions in the comment section below.
